The Société de transport de Montréal offers a door-to-door adapted public transportation service that operates by reservation only. To be eligible, the person must meet the following two requirements: be a disabled person, that is to say a person with an impairment leading to significant and persistent incapacity and who is subject to encounter obstacles in the accomplishment of everyday activities and have, in terms of mobility, limitations justifying the use of a adapted transport service. Only the following disabilities may be considered for eligibility purposes: the inability to walk a distance of 400 m on level ground, the inability to climb a 35 cm high step with support or the inability to getting off one without support, the inability to complete an entire journey using the usual public transport services, the inability to orient oneself in time or space, the inability to control situations or behaviors that could be detrimental to one's own safety or that of others and the inability to communicate verbally or gesturally. However, this incapacity cannot, in itself, be considered for admission purposes. Among the territories served, we find the island of Montreal.
