The Académie des retraités de l'Outaouais (ARO) encourages the development and fulfillment of retirees through educational action and the social reinvestment of skills and experiences, in addition to offering a diversified program including courses, conferences, workshops, social and cultural activities. The Académie des retraités de l'Outaouais collaborates in community projects that allow retirees to share their experiences and knowledge by providing support and participation in community life. The ARO breaks isolation and contributes to the physical and psychological well-being of its members. The clientele served concerns retirees and the territories served include the cities of Thurso, Mayo, Gatineau, Val-des-Monts, Cantley, Chelsea, Pontiac, La Pêche, Denholm, Messines, Maniwaki, Mansfield-et- Pontefract, Saint-André-Avellin, Papineauville, Plaisance, Lochaber, Low, Kazabazua, Gracefield, Bouchette, Sainte-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau, Déléage, Grand-Remous, Bristol, Bryson, Litchfield and Fort-Coulonge.
