The Association des personnes handicapées visuelles de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine (APHVGÎM) is an independent community organization whose mission is to promote the development and social integration of adults with visual impairments. Since 1995, the organization has been providing support, organizing social and adapted leisure activities to break the isolation of the visually impaired population of Gaspé and Madelin, and raising awareness among the general population of the various issues related to visual impairment. The clientele served by this organization concerns people aged 18 and over living with a visual handicap. Among the territories served are the Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine regions.
